The name byte19 holds deep personal significance for our founder. It’s a tribute to his father, Lyle, who passed away from stage 4 prostate cancer. Baseball was Lyle's greatest passion, and the number 19 was his jersey number during his playing days—an enduring symbol of his dedication to the sport.
Why a Shark?
The word byte subtly hints at bite, capturing the fierce spirit of a shark. A memory byte is a unit of data storage in a computer's memory. This represents the digital world we work in, while also serving as a lasting tribute to Lyle, ensuring his memory is forever honored and preserved. Lyle also served as the pitching coach for the Columbus Sharks, adding another layer of meaning to the name.
